Helen is a former head of chemistry at an 11–18 comprehensive school. She has an in-depth understanding of the science curriculum from primary through to secondary level with a specialist focus on chemistry.
Her work in curriculum innovation and design includes a long association with OCR's 21st Century Science qualification, the Association for Science Education (ASE) and more recently with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Helen has developed award winning resources and provided curriculum consultancy to UK-based and international organisations.
Helen is an active member of ASE and is currently chair of ASE’s 11–19 committee as well as being a member of the RSC Curriculum and Assessment Working Group and a primary school governor.
Helen’s latest role is as chemistry curriculum specialist for the University of York's Best Evidence Science Teaching (BEST) project.
