Ollie Hunter has been a full-time chemistry teacher since 1993 and a head of department for the past 15 years. He also has recently taken on the role of EPQ coordinator.
Ollie completed an MA(Ed) through the Open University and is now a part-time doctoral student in the faculty of education at the University of Cambridge. Ollie’s research focuses on how secondary school students understand the symbolic language of chemistry and how chemical equations and formulae are used by students to generate chemical meaning. He has an interest in the role of language in the teaching of chemistry and the etymological and historical origins of chemical words.
